Did you see the latest, biggest cordless stick vacuum from Dyson? The Dyson V11 Torque Drive Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is called, and it is an absolute beast. It can only suck the socks right off the foot if you don’t pay attention and has a battery that can last up to 60 minutes at one full charge.
Dyson’s cordless vacuums certainly have taken a long time, but one thing hasn’t changed: they are still really costly. The V11 Torque Drive that we listed above has an enormous cost of $700. Even now you have to cough up $610 with a discount on Amazon. Maybe you can streamline that purchase if you have a mountain of cash, but most of us tighten our bags these days. If in many ways, or even better in one or two key areas, you’re going to want something almost as good as V11, we just have the thing.
One of the best models we’ve tested is the Bissell ICONpet wireless vacuum cleaner. It is strong enough to take all of the dirt and stain around your house, and it has a magnificent design similar to the latest Dyson models. Indeed, thanks to its clever filter design, the ICONpet could actually be a little easier to empty and clean. It easily tackles animal hair— including the long hair my pup sheds around— and the runtime is 20 to 30 minutes per charge. This isn’t as good as the Dyson, but consider how you use the cableless vacuum. Do you actually need to run for an hour or use it just to clean a couple of rooms?
The LED lighting in the base that shows all the dirt and hair of your pet on the floor is one thing I like about the ICONpet. You won’t believe how much more dirty your floors are when you can see them all. Dyson has no illumination whatsoever, and our tests found that we missed a lot when using our Dyson and then ran the Bissell model across the same area.
The ICONpet Bissell is fascinating, with $350 in retail prices just above half the Dyson V11’s price. But now you go to the Amazon and for only $199, you can get one.
