It’s 2021, Apple is still doesn’t allow to modify the default music app on its iPhone for some reason. Fortunately, as the forthcoming iOS version may be changed, users may be able to default Siri for setting music services to third parties.
Users will be able to ask Siri to perform a particular song or album first unveiled by MacRumors at the iOS 14.5 beta, and Siri will perform music from Spotify, YouTube Music, or any other streaming service that has been set to default, depending on which music streaming service it has set up.
Previously, through Apple Music, Siri would only search for music, whether it’s songs that you downloaded to your device or whatever Apple might find in its own catalog.
You can also request Siri to play music from a particular streaming service, but you must specify what, adding some extra steps to an easy process.
Once iOS 14.5 is installed, you will be asked by Siri what music service you want to use; your music app will then give you permission. Once that’s done, it’s going to play from that service by default.
