I don’t like cheap noise-canceling headphones. I have struggled a little to list the best $100 noise-canceling headphones because there are so few that I would recommend buying. However, an exception is Soundcore Life Q20 Hybrid Active Noise Headphones from Anker. Their regular list price of $60 is quite decent. Now they’re on sale again for $40 black version on Amazon. A few times they have hit that price, but it’s as low as we saw them.
No, it doesn’t sound as good as premium models like the Sony WH-1000XM3, but it sounds quite good, all you can ask for at that price. It is quite well balanced with an adequate amount of clarity and bass that is not bloated or muddy (bass boosts or bass up mode if you want extra bass help). The noise-canceling is acceptable, solid as a headset for making calls, and battery life is good at 40 hours.
Above all, it is simply better than most of the cheap headphones that I tried, some of which are OK but tend to be deficient in sound quality usually in the department.
Once again, don’t expect Anker to be as good as the superior models – the quality of the construction is not the same as premium headphones – but it’s certainly a good deal for $40 when you’re looking for a cheap noise cancelation device.
